maybe i should mention that his shield is an energy shield that comes out of his wrist (my rendering skills for effects on photoshop fails me :\ ) and that he can shoot/throw it like his old shield.
if i had any goals for his redesign, it was:
1. to give him a helmet to prevent him from getting shot in the head
2. get rid of his clunky shield and make it more portable
